HomeToGo founder Andrae teases Modes launching in 2023

Germany: Alternative hosting market HomeToGo Founder and CEO Patrick Andrae has teased a new product launch in 2023 – HomeToGo Modes.

Described as a “revolutionary way to find and book accommodation,” Modes is poised to deliver a “hyper-curated vacation rental browsing experience entirely based on unique interests,” according to Dr. Andrae.

HomeToGo may seek to follow Airbnb’s path in enabling its users to search for the desired vacation rental property based on their specific needs and preferences, including “unique” rentals, “legendary” rentals, or properties that keep price top of mind for consumers. Earlier this year, Airbnb redesigned its website to feature specific categories ranging from “off the grid” properties to creative spaces, castles and many more.

Founded in 2014, HomeToGo has earned a reputation as a vacation rental distribution channel and metasearch engine, creating intuitive product features based on data and feedback from its users. In 2015, the company piloted its flexible search technology, which saw an increase of more than 600% during the pandemic.

Last September, HomeToGo completed its business combination with ad hoc acquisition company [SPAC] Lakestar SPAC I to begin public trading on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.

In 2022, the company also made three significant acquisitions – AMIVAC [the vacation rental business unit of Groupe SeLoger], internet company e-domizil GmbH of e-vacation Group Holding GmbH for 40 million euros, and vacation rental travel technology provider SECRA.

No timetable was given as to when the launch of HomeToGo modes could be finalized in 2023, although a series of key strategic update announcements are expected early next year.
