Iowa Star reacts to Kelly Clarkson’s cover of her song [VIDEO]
When one of the biggest names in the music industry covers your song, then you’ve pretty much made it.
It’s been a hell of a year for an eastern Iowa native, and it’s not even February yet. Earlier this week, the rising country star Hailey Whitter, originally from Shueyville, made his debut on national television.
On Thursday, Jan. 27, Whitters made another TV appearance…sort of. At least his song did.
At the start of each episode of the Emmy-winning talk show The Kelly Clarkson Show, the host performs a cover of a random song with her band. The segment is commonly referred to as “Kelly-oke” and is a staple of the program.
Often, the short musical moment blows up on social media more than any of the talk show host’s other segments. For that day’s episode, the “American Idol” winner performed the proud Iowa native’s song “Everything She Ain’t.”
Obviously, artists love to cover songs and make them their own. When Clarkson did her own version of the Whitters’ hit, she didn’t stray too far from the original.
Also…was the vintage-looking dress a tribute to Hailey Whitters’ signature style? You can be the judge!

It didn’t take too long for Hailey Whitters to respond to this flattering performance. She shared a video on social media with her joyful reaction to the star’s cover.
In 2022, Whitters was making big strides, both personally and professionally. The singer joined Jon Pardi and Lainey Wilson on the road, released her second album “Raised”, and she even got married!
Things are only getting more exciting for the Grammy-nominated artist. She is set to tour with country superstar Shania Twain and join her for some shows this summer.
And maybe we can expect a collaboration between her and Kelly Clarkson? May be? We would love to see that!

A restaurant in New York has an interesting connection to a celebrity in Iowa. This location was a filming location for an adjacent actress from Iowa.
