Issa Rae is giving fans a chance to have a romantic stay at her South Los Angeles home over Valentine’s Day weekend.
Teaming up with Airbnbthe “Insecure” and “Awkward Black Girl” star and creator even curated an itinerary for the lucky guests.
Booking will open Feb. 8 at 1 p.m. EST for a $56-a-night stay from Saturday, Feb. 12 through Valentine’s Day on Monday, Feb. 14.
the actor, screenwriter and producer, 37, revealed the idea was to shine a light on black culture in Los Angeles, referring to herself as a “proud South Los Angeles native”.
“I invite guests to spend a weekend in my hometown to experience the culture, businesses and communities that influence my on-screen storytelling,” Rae said in the Airbnb listing. “I can’t wait to show guests everything that makes LA Noire so special.”
“The streets, sights and sounds of my hometown have long been a main character in my creative work. You may have heard that I support everyone black – and this mission is inspired by my LA community. Over this epic weekend, I hope you enjoy my community’s rich history and many contributions to LA,” Rae continued.
Rae also said guests could virtually chat with her during their stay.
Other activities include:
- A catered Super Bowl 2022 “Game Day” taco dinner for two
- Panoramic view of Los Angeles and the Hollywood Hills from the outdoor lounge
- Using Sienna Naturals hair care products (“that you can take home!”) for a “little self-care Sunday, any day.”
- Relaxing by the pool during “LA Winter”
The mid-century pad, located in View Park, is also adorned with works by local black artists such as Maya Iman, Vakseen and Domonique Brown, which Rae wants to showcase.
“Los Angeles has so many unique neighborhoods, but I have a thing for South LA,” Rae said of the area.
“It’s exciting to see the neighborhood getting the attention it deserves as everyone gears up for football’s favorite Sunday,” she continued in the listing. “From Leimert Park or View Park to Inglewood and Baldwin Hills, you’ll quickly understand why South LA is home to some of the city’s best, if lesser known, food, art, creativity and culture.”
