After ending his acclaimed HBO series Insecure last year, Issa Rae, actress-turned-mogul, has flourished both in her personal and professional life. On Wednesday, March 30, she dispelled rumors circulating on social media about the possibility of her being pregnant with a raw, uncut response.

“I’m not pregnant, for fuck’s sake,” she tweeted. “LET A BITCH EAT DRINK AND BE HAPPY.”
Rae, 37, has always been deprived of her personal life. She married her husband, Louis Diame, last year in a private ceremony in the south of France. In September 2021, she opened up about her marriage in a cover story for self magazine.
“I am extremely happy [being married]“, Rae said.”[But] I love my life, I love this selfishness, and I know I have a window. I’ve always thought that women, black women in particular – unless you’re Viola Davis or Angela Bassett – you have a window where people will want to keep seeing you and see what you can do. Then there are so many limitations imposed on you, and it keeps me on my toes.

Amid the rumours, Issa took the opportunity to promote her friend’s podcast. Sharing the link to the podcast hosted by Amy Aniobi and Grace Edwards, ‘The Antidote’, with the tweet: “O shit it’s exploding, listen to my friends (@amyaniobi + @gracyact) new podcast which was released today today.”
