Kentucky Homeowners Can Make Money With ‘Swamply Spaces’ Side Hustle

Swimply is a relatively new app that works like Airbnb, but you just rent a backyard pool. Currently, there is only one that is available in the Evansville areaso now would be a good time to “get started” and make some money if you have a pool.

What about insurance?

The issue of insurance and liability immediately came to mind. So much can happen around a pool, lake, or your backyard, especially if you’re planning a party. According to Swimply, hosting through their service gives you a $1 million general liability insurance policy. If that puts your mind at ease and you’re thinking of renting out your pool or other space, here’s how it works.

You don’t have to pay anything upfront to list your pool or space with Swimply. This one-of-a-kind service charges a commission on your bookings. Swimply takes 15% of what the host earns. So basically if you charge $50 per hour and someone books 2 hours, you will earn $85.

Don’t be tempted to rent your neighbour’s pool! Seriously, you have to be the owner to list the pool. This means that if you are renting, living in an apartment with a pool, or staying with someone who has a pool, you are not allowed to rent it through Swimply. The same goes for tennis courts, home gyms or your home theater, etc.

Read the fine print

It’s important to read all the details, whether you’re the one renting your space or looking to rent one. You cannot rent a space and Admission fee. So you can’t use someone’s garden to host a party with cover charges.

Could this $50 million estate in Nashville be the most expensive home in Tennessee history?

Owned by Tennessee’s richest person, Tom Frist Jr, this Belle Meade estate in Nashville is on the market for $50 million. Richie Rich would be jealous… AND would need a golf cart just to go to the bathroom, of which there are TEN, all chargeable, of different sizes. This magnificent expanse also includes five bedrooms. (Also…I’m getting some serious “Hint” vibes from this place.)
