Kenyan photographer drugged and robbed by client who hired him to shoot YouTube video

A Kenyan photographer is now seeking justice after he was drugged and robbed by a client who hired him to shoot a YouTube video.

Kennedy Olweny was contacted by a man on Instagram last week, asking for his services to shoot a cooking video for YouTube.

Talk to TUKO.co.ke, Kennedy says he went to meet the supposed client at Zimmerman; he thought they were meeting at his house, but he would later find out that the house the man had taken him to was an Airbnb.

“We met at the apartments in Zimmerman Heights, and he took me to a house where he told me he lived with his sister. After he arrived, he told me we were going to shoot a video about making masala chips, adding that his sister had gone to buy some spices for the video at the Garden City Mall,” Ken told this writer.

The man then cooked him some fried eggs and thought he was just being hospitable.

“A few minutes after eating the eggs, I started to feel extremely dizzy and thought I was just tired. However, a few moments later, I passed out and did not regain consciousness until that night when I heard someone knock on the door,” he said.

How he regained consciousness

He heard a woman knocking on the door and he thought it was the man’s sister, but he passed out again and didn’t wake up until the next day.

When he woke up, he found that the man was nowhere in sight and his phone, laptop and phone were missing.

The suspect also locked him inside the house, an Airbnb. He borrowed a phone from the owner of the house and called his brother, who picked it up.

CCTV footage captured the mystery man leaving the house after drugging him. He was captured with the camera on the tripod rushing out of the building.

The victim reported the matter to the police, but they have yet to locate the suspect.

“I’ve been dizzy since that day from drugs, and the theft of my items really brought me back. They were my work tools,” he said, pleading with anyone with information about the suspect to help him.

In other news, a video of a man grabbing a piggy bank of a custodian of funds in transit is doing the rounds on social media.

Footage showed the man approaching the stationary van on foot before pointing a gun at the unsuspecting guard.

The strange incident left many users puzzled, and they took to the comments section to share their views and suspicions.
