Popular football club Liverpool FC become the first Premier League club to launch virtual clothing products in the Meta Avatars store on Facebook, Messenger, Instagram and later this year in virtual reality.
According to announcement“LFC Digital Apparel can be purchased from the Meta Avatars store on Facebook and Instagram in the US, Canada, Mexico and Thailand, as well as Spain, Italy and the UK.”
The bold, no-frills home kit or the iridescent, multi-coloured away kit from the 2022-23 season, as well as the LFC own-brand lifestyle line, are available for Reds fans to digitally outfit their avatars.
Drew Crisp, SVP for Digital at Liverpool Football Club, said: “We are incredibly delighted to be the first Premier League club with our own meta avatars. This is another fantastic opportunity for our global fanbase to engage digitally with Liverpool Football Club and create their own individual club-branded avatars.
The ad read “You can gear up on Facebook and Instagram and get ready to sing ‘Oh! He wears number 20 “with the tens of thousands of LFC fans at Anfield.”
