Made in America returns to the Parkway with headliners Bad Bunny and Tyler, the Creator

Bad Bunny and Tyler, the Creator will headline the Made in America music festival on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway this Labor Day weekend, festival organizers announced Tuesday.

The Jay-Z-hosted festival will also feature beloved local artists like Jazmine Sullivan, who performed last weekend at The Roots Picnicand Lil Uzi Vert, who made a surprise appearance during a Lil Baby set at the festival last year.

Made in America, which began in Philadelphia in 2012, has been held on the boardwalk every year except in 2020, when it was canceled due to COVID-19. The ticketed event, which usually attracts around 50,000 fans a day, will take place on September 3 and 4.

Other artists announced for this year’s festival include Burna Boy, Snoh Aalegra, Kodak Black, Pusha T, Lil Tjay, Tate McRae, Fuerza Regida, Toro Y Moi, Babyface Ray, Key Glock, Larry June, Rels B , Victoria Monét, Chimbala, and Ryan Castro.

In a press release, organizers said the festival has generated more than $150 million in economic impact for Philly since its inception.

The Cause Village, which includes a row of stalls manned by nonprofits and activists, will feature groups like Black Voters Matter, HeadCount, ACCT Philly and United in Community this year.

A two-day general admission ticket at Made in America costs $150, plus a $37.56 service charge. Two-day VIP tickets are $750 with an $85.24 service charge.

Last year’s festival, the first to be held since the coronavirus hit, required attendees to provide proof of vaccination or a negative coronavirus test to access the field. Festival-goers were also supposed to be masked, per city guidelines at the time, but there were little compliance or enforcement.

Festival organizers did not immediately respond to a request about what COVID-19 rules or restrictions, if any, will be in place this year. The city briefly reinstated a mask mandate in April, but reversed after only three days.

The 2021 festival, which featured Lil Baby, Megan Thee Stallion and Justin Bieber, took place immediately after Hurricane Ida, which caused historic flooding in the area and on nearby I-676 but generally spared the walk. A total of 34 acts performed on three stages throughout the two-day festival.

Philly ranked last year third of Airbnb destinations for Labor Day weekend due, in large part, to the Made in America festival.
