Man Charged with Sexually Assaulting Sleeping Teen at Orange County AirBnB

ORANGE COUNTY, Florida. – A 36-year-old man is accused of sexually assaulting a girl while she slept on the couch of an Orange County rental she paid for through AirBnB, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office .

The victim told deputies that she rented a sofa on AirBnB from Tuesday until November 11. The sofa was in the common room of the house and she did not have her own bedroom, according to the report. She told deputies she fell asleep on Tuesday and woke up around 4am the next morning to find Rico Johnson sexually abusing her.

The victim said Johnson was naked from the waist down and wearing only a shirt. She started yelling at Johnson and he went upstairs, put on some pants and left but later returned, according to the report.

Four other people were at the house during the incident, including the man the teenager had rented the sofa from. He told deputies he was asleep and hadn’t seen or heard anything. Two other people who had rented sofas in different rooms from the victim said they heard the victim arguing with Johnson, and then Johnson went upstairs and left the house.

Evidence was collected from Johnson’s clothing and deputies found reason to believe Johnson had sexually assaulted the victim.

Johnson was arrested on Wednesday and charged with sexual assault on a victim under the age of 18.
