Meet these 7 fintech leaders at the next Tech.eu Summit (May 17, Brussels)

We’ve highlighted the (now over) 50 confirmed speakers for the upcoming Tech.eu Summit, but here’s a selection of seven exciting leaders from the European FinTech space who will grace our stages at Brussels Expo on May 17:

Kristo Käärmann – co-founder and CEO, Wise.

Wise is a global technology company, creating the best way to move money around the world. Co-founded by Käärmann and Taavet Hinrikus, Wise launched in 2011 under its original name TransferWise. It is one of the most profitable and fastest growing technology companies in the world and is listed on the London Stock Exchange under the symbol WISE. More than 12 million people and businesses use Wise, which processes more than €7 billion in cross-border transactions every month, saving customers over €1 billion a year.

Ali Niknam – founder and CEO, bunq

Ali Niknam, born in Canada but of Iranian descent, started his first business when he was just 16 years old.

In his early twenties, he founded TransIP, the largest domain name and web hosting provider in the Netherlands.

In 2012, he undertook to radically change the banking sector and founded bunq.

Irina Scarlat – Director of Growth, Bitpanda

An entrepreneur at heart, Irina Scarlat has over 12 years of business experience, including 10 in technology. She currently directs Bitpandagrowth and marketing as Director of Growth.

Previously, she spent 3 years at Revolut in various roles including setting up and leading Revolut’s global growth department, playing an instrumental role in growing the business from 1 million to over 15 million users. Prior to that, she built and led Uber’s marketing team in Romania, growing the local market to over one million users.

Rodolphe Ardant – founder and CEO, Expenses

Rodolphe Ardant, or Rod as he is known, is the co-founder and CEO of Expenses,

Spendesk, the 7-in-1 expense management platform that empowers businesses and individuals to do their best. Over 3,500 businesses across Europe trust Spendesk to manage their spend, with over €4 billion spent on the platform since launch.

A builder at heart, he created his first company upon leaving École Polytechnique and Columbia University. In 2013, he sold his company to Solocal (formerly Yellow Pages) and took up the position of COO at Drivy before reconnecting with his entrepreneurial roots with eFounders and Spendesk.

Chloé Mayenobe – Director of Growth, Solaris Bank

Chloé Mayenobe’s long career in the European payments industry has included roles in governance as well as corporate functions in international environments and transformation phases. More recently, she was Deputy CEO of Natixis Payments and a member of the Natixis Executive Committee.

In addition, Mayenobe spent more than 12 years at Ingenico Group, where she was appointed Vice-President Audit and Risks in 2006, before extending her responsibilities as EVP and finally being appointed General Manager Europe of the retail division. In this role, she was responsible for more than 1,500 employees and managed 400 million euros in turnover.

Yasmin Moaven – Marketing Director, Pipe

Yasmin Moaven has over ten years of experience managing and managing marketing, communications and investor relations for privately held, publicly traded and emerging technology companies.

As CMO of Pipe, she leads all marketing, communications and investor relations efforts, helping to build one of the fastest growing fintechs in history and establish recurring revenue as a new class of assets. Prior to joining Pipe, she was an early employee of automotive subscription app Fair.com, heading investor relations, communications and marketing, and raised more than 1.4 billion in debt and $500 million in equity.

Prior to Fair, Yas worked in marketing, communications and strategic partnerships for Sotheby’s, TrueCar and the LA Tourism Board, where she led brand strategy, growth marketing, communications and capital raising. Yas is passionate about fintech and financial literacy and holds a BA from the University of Southern California.

Anastasija Oleinika – CEO, TWINO Group

Anastasija Oleinika is the CEO of the international holding company TWINO Group.

TWINO offers a wide range of financial technology services, including investment brokerage services in Europe, non-bank loans in several countries, such as Poland, Latvia, Russia, Vietnam, focusing on technology and smart data. Anastasija has extensive experience in the financial sector and financial management, including working on the acquisition of several large companies, raising capital, as well as the reorganization and sale of assets. Anastasija has been with TWINO for four years now, taking care of the financial management of the group, managing the business operations of the group and driving the overall success of the company.
