Memphis man arrested in connection with 2021 carjacking, police say – FOX13 News Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis police found the stolen car while responding to a corporate robbery a few months later.

On December 12, 2021, a dark-colored SUV pulled up in front of a 2014 Infiniti Q50, in the 3400 block of Poplar Avenue.

A man exited the SUV, approached the owner of the Infiniti and pointed a gun demanding the vehicle, police said.

Police also said a second man in the SUV pulled out a gun and told him to return the keys.

The carjacking victim complied and the approaching man fled in the Infiniti.

On March 11, officers located the victim’s Infiniti Q50 in the 3200 block of Chelsea Avenue while responding to a robbery at a nearby business.

The theft turned out to be unrelated, police said.

Davon Nickelberry has been arrested by authorities.

Nickelberry was found to have two loaded handguns and a plastic bag containing marijuana.

Nickelberry was taken to the Felony Response Office for further investigation.

The Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) determined that Nickelberry participated in the carjacking on December 12, 2021.

Nickelberry was arrested and charged with carjacking, use of a firearm in a dangerous crime, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a controlled substance.
