Michelangelo’s Immersive Sistine Chapel Exhibit Is Coming to Many More Cities Across the US

If you enjoy art history but can’t make it to Italy just yet, you’re in luck.

Immersive exhibition of Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel is popping up in every city across the United States, with the most recent opening this week in Dallas, Texas.

The exhibition gives you the opportunity to take a closer look at the details of Michelangelo’s most iconic work, including the Renaissance frescoes that adorn the roof of the Sistine Chapel.

Looking closely at historical pieces such as The Creation of Adam and The Last Judgment,You could completely forget you’re at a show.

The rooms will make you feel like you are walking through the halls of the Vatican in Rome while looking at the famous ceiling that the artist painted by hand.

Using state-of-the-art technology, the exhibition reproduces 34 of the Sistine Chapel paintings in their original size. It will give you an up-close look and feel – which would otherwise be impossible – to the crisp details and iconic artwork in each piece.

“When I visited the Sistine Chapel in Rome, there were long lines and we were in a rush,” Martin Biallas, the exhibit’s producer, said in a statement. “This exhibition is like a sanctuary, you are transformed into a completely different world.”

While the exhibit is currently in Dayton, Cleveland, Philadelphia and DC, it arrives at the Irving Mall outside of Dallas on Friday, February 11, where it will remain through March.
