Neo-Nazi pedophile who murdered 15-year-old schoolgirl to keep her from going to police dies in jail

A neo-Nazi pedophile who murdered a schoolgirl to keep her from going to the police has died in prison – and his body has never been found.

Robert Ewing, 68, from Blackpool, was convicted of murdering 15-year-old Paige Chivers in her flat on All Hallows Road, Bispham, and sentenced to life in prison.

He was sentenced to serve at least 32 years before becoming eligible for parole in July 2015.

Paige was murdered to stop her from telling the police about the sexual abuse she suffered from him.

A court heard how, in 2007, Paige was a troubled teenager after the death of her mother and her father’s battle with alcohol.

She fell prey to Ewing, who allowed teenage girls to drink, smoke, and do drugs in his apartment.

He had previously served a year in prison for gross indecency and indecent assault on a 13-year-old girl, Daily Record reports.

When Paige threatened to report her sexual abuse, she was murdered by Ewing in August 2007. The schoolgirl’s body was never found.

Gareth Dewhurst, 46, also from Blackpool, who helped Ewing dispose of the body, was jailed for seven years for aiding an offender and a further year for intending to pervert the course of justice by intimidating witnesses.

The pair, who denied all offences, were convicted after a 13-week trial at Preston Crown Court.

Ewing died in prison after being found in his jail cell last week.

A Prison Service spokesman said: ‘We can confirm that Robert Ewing, 68, died in prison on Friday November 4th.
