Paul McCartney Shares His Favorite Beatles Song And It Might Not Be What You Expected

Music legend Paul McCartney has revealed his favorite Beatles song.

The Liverpool native rose to fame as a co-singer, songwriter and bassist for the rock powers, releasing a stream of hits over the decades. It would be understandable if the star had a hard time picking a favorite track given the caliber to choose from.

However, in an interview a few years ago, the 79-year-old revealed his personal favorite from the Beatles catalog. Appearing on Zane Lowe’s show, Sir Paul revealed that although the Beatles song he’s listened to the most is Let it Be, it’s not his favorite Fab Four song.

Her favorite song is, surprisingly, You Know My Name (Look Up the Number) – the B-side to Let it Be. The reason Sir Paul cites this as his favorite track is said to be because of the fun experience he had while recording it. Let It Be was released on March 6, 1970 as the band’s final single.

It sold nearly 3 million copies worldwide and reached number one in many countries. Featuring saxophone by Brian Jones of the Rolling Stones, the song is a must for all Beatles fans.

In a recent poll, Hey Jude was voted the Beatles’ favorite song. What’s your favorite Beatles song? Let us know in the comments.
