Peacock’s ‘Bel-Air’: 5 Things You Didn’t Know About Adrian Holmes

Super Bowl Sunday just got even better! Peacock has released a brand new series and we are thrilled with this one. Titled “Bel-Air,” the show is a retelling of the legendary NBC sitcom “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.” The show’s official synopsis reads, “Set in modern-day America, Bel-Air is an hour-long serialized drama analogue of the ’90s sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air that delves into the original premise: Will’s complicated journey from the streets of West Philadelphia to the gated mansions of Bel-Air With a reimagined vision, Bel-Air will delve deeper into the inherent conflicts, emotions, and prejudices that he was impossible to fully explore in a 30-minute sitcom format, while still delivering swagger and nods to the original show.”

Developed by Morgan Cooper and produced by Will Smith, “Bel-Air” is based on a Cooper-directed fan film that ended up catching Smith’s eye. Cooper was a big fan of the iconic ’90s sitcom that shot Smith to stardom. It was an instant hit and ran for 6 years on NBC. For those interested in watching the original series, “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” is available to stream on Netflix and HBO Max.
