A missing aristocrat and her newborn baby They are thought to be sleeping in a tent in sub-zero temperatures, police said.

Constance Marten, 35, and her boyfriend Mark Gordon, a convicted sex offender, were last seen on January 7 in east London shopping for tents and camping gear.

Detectives fear for the safety of the couple’s baby, who has not received any medical treatment since he was born in early January.

As they made another call on Tuesday, police said Gordon drove to Argos on Whitechapel Road at 6.19pm on January 7. He bought a blue tent for two people, two sleeping bags and two pillows.

The family then spent more than three hours walking through the neighborhood and attempted to flag down three black cabs, but were refused. They were last seen walking along Brick Lane towards Bethnal Green Road at 10.01pm that evening.

Detective Superintendent Lewis Basford, leading the investigation, said: ‘We are extremely concerned that a newborn baby – less than a week old at the time on January 7 – was exposed to sub-zero temperatures if Mark and Constance were camping. somewhere as our evidence suggests.

“No child, especially a tiny newborn, should be forced to endure such dangerous, life-threatening conditions.

“That’s why it’s absolutely vital that anyone with information about her whereabouts gets in touch with us urgently – whether it’s with a recent sighting or an older one. Every piece of information is crucial to us finding the baby and make sure he’s okay.

“My officers will continue to work tirelessly behind the scenes to piece together the family’s movements and current whereabouts. They may be trying to blend in with homeless communities here in London or further afield, or camping in more rural or wooded areas.

“They could be absolutely anywhere in the country. Please keep your eyes open, especially when walking through wastelands or beauty spots, or when walking the dog, and report any information to us, no matter how insignificant you think it may be.

Detectives began investigating the couple’s whereabouts after officers were called to a car fire on the hard shoulder of the M61 near Farnworth, Bolton, north west England, on 5 January.

They drove away from the wreckage of the car, which destroyed most of their belongings. They then traveled by taxi to Liverpool and then to Harwich.

On January 7, they drove to East Ham station before taking a taxi to Whitechapel Road at 6.14pm, where they were dropped off with an orange plastic bag and a pram.

Ms Marten, who comes from a wealthy aristocratic family with royal ties, was a promising drama student before meeting Gordon in 2016.

Her estranged father, Napier Marten, urged his daughter to get herself and her child to safety. In an appeal last week, the film and music producer said: “I want you to understand that you are very much loved no matter the circumstances. We are deeply concerned for your well-being and that of your baby.

Since meeting Gordon, Ms Marten has reportedly lived a life cut off from family and friends. From around September last year, the couple started living in Airbnbs across the country and raised a substantial amount of money to allow them to live off the grid and escape the attention of the authorities. .

Gordon served 20 years in prison in the United States for rape and assault for attacking a woman in her early 20s when he was 14.
