PrettyLittleThing is launching a matching collection of dogs and owners and it’s the cutest – Bethan Shufflebotham

Dog moms and their canine companions can match their outfits in an adorable new take on fashion retailer PrettyLittleThing. The Manchester-based company launched its new pet collection earlier this month to celebrate National Pet Day.

The range is PLT’s First Complete Pet Collection and offers everything you need for your pampered pooch, from fluffy dressing gowns to stylish leashes and harnesses. But there are also cute looks for owners, from Dog Mum Sweaters for travel mugs and water bottles.

There are 37 items in the dog collection matching some of the latest trends, including down jackets and borgs. It’s a pretty neutral collection, with black, cream and beige accessories meaning the pieces will go with absolutely anything.

There are also snuff toys and mats to keep your furry family member entertained and more practical essentials like necklaces, bowls and mats.

Phoebe, my seven-year-old Staffy cross rescue, has tried out some of the collection’s bestsellers, and it’s the perfect blend of style and function.

Preparing Phoebe for her walk, I put her in the PrettyLittleThing Quilted Dog Coat which comes in black and cream. Usually £15 – which is very affordable for a dog coat – it’s currently on sale for £14 and comes in five sizes.

Phoebe wore an XL, and it suited her pretty well with a comfy bedroom. My other dog, Frank, who is a little bigger, could also fit in the coat , but it was a little tight on him. The quilted jacket mimics the fashionable down jackets on the high street, with PLT branding across the top.

It’s lined with fleece to keep your dog comfortable in cool weather, with a hole in the top for attaching a leash to a harness.

Speaking of tracks, the PrettyLittleThing Cream Leash – available in small and large – dropped from £12 to £11. The sturdy leash has black leather details with a PLT bone charm and is really comfortable to hold. It’s long enough to give your dog some freedom to sniff around, but easy enough to shorten if needed.

the ash gray dog mum sweater has been so popular it’s almost sold out, only a few left in a small size. the jumper has a fleece interior and fits very well, providing a slightly oversized look without looking like you’re drowning in your clothes.

As an owner, I love the phrase ‘dog mom’, and this loungewear number is great for walking the dog or just enjoying Sunday cuddles. Plus, it’s made from yarn recycled from plastic bottles, part of a slightly more sustainable collection from the fast fashion brand.

the jumper has an American college-inspired look, reminiscent of when Lady Diana was pictured in a gray sweatshirt and cycling shorts. It’s priced at £18, up from £20, and has become my go-to for tinkering or playing with dogs.

The face of the collection is the adorable eight-year-old American Cocker Spaniel, Teddie, who won the PLT Pet competition launched in March. The brand launched a nationwide search for the face of the collection and Teddie, won her modeling debut thanks to her stunning entrance video.
