Singapore Airlines brought back its Spontaneous Getaways this spring, a hugely popular way for KrisFlyer members to redeem 30% fewer miles.
They’ve updated a list of Spontaneous Escapes available today for travel August 1-31, 2022. You must book by July 31.

Spontaneous Getaways are a great way for those residing in or traveling to Singapore to redeem fewer KrisFlyer miles. The selection varies from month to month.
These “deals” are not as good as they were before the most recent devaluation cycle.
Here are the terms and conditions of this offer:
- The KrisFlyer Spontaneous Escapes Promotion (“Promotion”) is organized by Singapore Airlines Limited (“SIA”). The promotion is open to KrisFlyer members (“Participants”) for online redemption of promotional rewards in Economy, Premium Economy and Business Class on select Singapore Airlines operated flights. Please refer to the list of eligible flights above. The promotion is not valid for codeshare flights.
- Qualifying bookings can only be made on singaporeair.com. This promotion is not available through KrisFlyer membership services, SIA ticket offices, travel agents or any other channel.
- To benefit from the Promotion, tickets must be issued between July 15, 2022 (00:00, GMT+8) and July 31, 2022 (2359:00, GMT+8) (“Promotion Period”), both dates inclusive, for travel from August 1, 2022 (00:00, GMT+8) to August 31, 2022 (2359:00, GMT+8) for all destinations.
- If (i) any part of the itinerary is confirmed after the promotion period; (ii) or falls outside the applicable travel period; and/or (iii) contains an ineligible flight, the entire itinerary will not be eligible for the promotion. Please split your bookings for travel within and outside of the promotional travel window.
- Use of the waitlist is not available for all flights offered in this promotion.
- Any modification is strictly prohibited for reservations made under this promotion. Cancellation is also not permitted for partially unused or fully unused tickets.
- For (i) any flight canceled by SIA, or (ii) if an SQ-operated flight has been removed from a participant’s booking due to Covid-19 and government regulatory changes, miles redeemed in the unused portion of the ticket will be refunded to the relevant Participant’s KrisFlyer account with no additional fees charged. However, requests to change booking details or retain the ticket for future use will not be granted. Participants can submit their request via the support request form.
- This promotion cannot be combined with any other discount or promotion.
- This promotion applies to one-way and round-trip travel. No stopovers are permitted for this promotion.
- Taxes and fees are applicable in addition to redemption miles required and paid separately by the passenger in the applicable currency. Taxes and fees are billed and payable separately and are not subject to reduction.
- The Promotion will only apply to tickets purchased entirely with KrisFlyer miles. It does not apply to commercial tickets purchased partly in miles and partly in cash.
- The 30% discount level applies only to the number of KrisFlyer miles required for an Economy Class Saver, Premium Economy Class Saver and/or Business Class Saver award ticket. The 30% discount will be displayed when selecting the eligible flight(s) in the Promo Awards category when booking on singaporeair.com.
- All exchanges are subject to seat availability at time of booking.
- By participating in the Promotion, each Participant agrees to comply with and be bound by these Terms and Conditions, SIA’s Website Terms of Use, SIA’s Privacy Policy and KrisFlyer’s Terms and Conditions (collectively, the “SIA Terms and Conditions”). Failure to comply with or violation of any of these SIA Terms and Conditions may result in Participant’s disqualification at any stage of the Promotion, and any KrisFlyer mile redemption discounts awarded may be voided, withheld, withdrawn or recovered.
- All decisions made by SIA regarding any matter relating to this promotion shall be final. SIA reserves the right to change these terms and conditions, terminate or modify this Promotion, including any changes to eligible destinations, eligible flights, promotional dates and travel dates of this Promotion, without notice, in its sole and complete discretion.
- To the extent permitted by applicable law, SIA shall not be liable for any consequences that any Participant may suffer (including, without limitation, any damage, loss, injury or disappointment) from participating in the Promotion.
- These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore and shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.
