SriLankan Airlines returns to Moscow with direct flights

Colombo : SriLankan Airlines, Sri Lanka’s national carrier and a member of the oneworld alliance, is pleased to announce the start of direct flights between Sri Lanka and Russia today. The maiden flight was officially greeted with a burst of water at Domodedovo Airport (DME) in Moscow. The airline is resuming flights to the Russian capital after a 6-year hiatus, between Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) and Moscow Domodedovo Airport (DME).

As a result, SriLankan would operate its flights to Russia every Friday using an Airbus A330 configured for 269 economy class seats and 28 business class seats. The operating frequency will be once a week, with a flight time of approximately 08 hours and 25 minutes. Flight UL533 will depart Colombo at 10:20 p.m., landing at Moscow Domodedovo Airport at 04:30 a.m., with return flight UL534 leaving Moscow at 7:15 p.m. the next day and return to Colombo at 6:05 am. on Sunday.
