Ted lasso and Game Of Thrones Actress Hannah Waddingham has spoken of “accidentally” finding out she may have difficulty conceiving after medical test for the show Benidorm.
Waddingham was nominated for a Emmy for his role in Apple tv Ted lasso which has been nominated 20 times: the most ever for a comedy after its first series.
The actor spoke to Kate Thornton on the Question time on white wine podcast, also revealing how she landed the role on the show because she immediately hit it off with creator Jason Sudeikis, and talking about how she juggles her job with being a single mom.

She had undergone a medical examination for the ITV show Benidorm, and received the results in a letter. She also explained how having a child changed her approach to work and that she had a conversation with her agents about taking a step back from work that could take her abroad.
She said: “I got a letter saying, blood type this blah, blah, fertility, low, dah, dah, dah. I was just told that maybe I was unlikely to conceive.
“So when I did, she knows she’s a precious little thing that was supposed to come to me. And I thought, ‘Okay, I need to be with this precious little love. given to me. And so I am really attentive, always and so grateful that the door to screen work opened for me when it was done.
“You know, right before I do Kiss me kate at the Old Vic. And then I had [Benidorm creator] Derren Litten asked me to come aboard to Benidorm. I also have to kind of thank Derren for letting me into acting.
“And it’s after that, during Benidorm, I got through this medical thing and I was on a mission to find a way. I took the homeopathic route, and it seemed to work. “
Waddingham spoke to Thornton about her feelings when she learned that she might not be able to have children.
She said: “I had absolutely tunnel vision, I couldn’t think of anything else. And her dad, at the time, was just like, ‘Look, if it’s not for us, this isn’t for us. is not for us.
“And I was like, ‘No, no, no, there’s nothing wrong with me.’ He said, “You know, it doesn’t always work that way.” And I was like, ‘No, it doesn’t work that way, I’m just saying I’m not ready to give up on this, j need to see what’s going on here.
“My God, blessed that I was one of those women he turned around for. A couple of my girlfriends didn’t have that privilege. So I’m well aware of the privilege that it is. is.
“And at that point, I just thought, ‘Well if I can avoid her, if I can avoid being away from her …’ One of my favorite things around the world is the bath books and the bed. So that’s it. I did.
“And I feel like I’ve been extended to that luxury. And so, you know, all the great rewards and being in big shows is totally icing on the cake for me and something that I don’t take it for granted either. I don’t think I would ever surpass myself. Because, like you said, I struggled as much as the next person. “

She spoke in the episode about moving from stage to screen and how she often had high profile people on shows fighting to get her involved.
