Thai hosts recognized as top Airbnb hosts under 30 in Asia Pacific

While Airbnb hosts span all ages, Airbnb celebrates International Youth Day (August 12) this year by highlighting its most successful, innovative and tenacious Airbnb hosts in Asia Pacific under the age of 30.

Airbnb recognizes 13 outstanding young Airbnb hosts in the Apac region with an average rating of 4.9 and more than 4,300 guest registrations collectively, including two from Thailand – Genie, 23, and Kantaphon, 27.

“A new world of opportunities has been opened up for the younger generation through their access to and mastery of modern technology. We are seeing more and more young Thais discovering Airbnb and talking about it with their families and friends. not just with us domestically and abroad but also by becoming tourism entrepreneurs by helping their families generate new sources of income through accommodation,” said Amanpreet Bajaj, Airbnb’s General Manager for the Southeast Asia, India, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

For many Airbnb hosts in Thailand, accommodation is a way to generate additional income and for Thais who are passionate about sharing their local culture, hospitality, and neighborhood communities with their travelers.

In fact, 77% of Thai hosts use Airbnb as an opportunity to connect travelers from around the world with their local communities.

During the pandemic, Thailand welcomed many first-time guests and Bangkok, Phuket, Hua Hin, Koh Samui and Pattaya were the top destinations for new guest income.
