The Philadelphia Flower Show comes out again in June

It’s never too early to think about spring when it comes to the Philadelphia Flower Show, which will once again head outdoors in June for the second year in a row.

“In Full Bloom” is the theme for the 10-day floral and plant extravaganza taking place June 11-19 at the same outdoor venue as last year – Franklin Delano Roosevelt Park in South Philly.

The Flower Show, a nearly 200-year-old tradition of the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, will feature important floral exhibitors such as landscapers and nonprofits, a food bazaar, native butterflies, flower gardens, and more. learning and a new space for children and families called the Cocoon and Children’s Playground, all inside the 15-acre park.

Entrance design for the upcoming 2022 Philadelphia Flower Show hosted annually by the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society. This year’s show in June will once again be held outdoors due to continued concerns over the COVID-19 virus pandemic.

He said the decision to once again produce the 2022 PHS Philadelphia Flower Show outdoors was made to address the continuing challenges and uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic. The show left the Pennsylvania Convention Center in 2021.

The park’s footprint allows for social distancing and the associated health benefits of being outdoors, according to the company.

Along with the new children’s and family zone, several other changes have been made following lessons learned from the first outdoor shows last year, said show spokeswoman Sin Gogolak.

These include a new ticketing structure with no timed sessions, flexible tickets that can be used any day, a flower path for visitors to follow, and additional shaded seating.

“This year’s theme evokes good health, positive well-being and a passion for life that culminates in a beautiful and colorful spectacle. Guests will experience outdoor gardens at the pinnacle of seasonal perfection and beauty that will inspire everyone. planning for a better future.”

The Flower Show is the oldest horticultural event in the country.
