In Philadelphia, the median monthly income of people who listed properties on Airbnb or Vrbo in the past 12 months was $2,094, according to AirDNA, which tracks short-term rental data. This includes a 96% increase from $1,283 in January to $2,516 in July. During the peak summer travel month, occupancy rates reached 68% in the city and average daily fares were $172.
For short-term vacation destinations within driving distance of the city, the numbers were much higher.
