This Repurposed Church Is a Very Unique Airbnb in Indiana

Sometimes you come across something (or somewhere) that seems absolutely too good to be true; sometimes that is too good to be true, but others, you end up finding an amazing place that draws you in time and time again. We found a beautiful and unique Airbnb in Indiana that ticks this box: it sounds too amazing, but it’s legit. Take a look and see why this little church should be your new home away from home:

From the outside it doesn’t look like much – but don’t be fooled.

You know all they say about judging a book by its cover; you would be doing yourself a disservice by judging this stay by its exterior.

Once you set foot inside, you won’t believe this little place was built in 1872!

Of course, everything has been modernized inside and it has all the amenities you’d probably expect, like high-speed wifi and a full kitchen.


The highly modernized interior appears to be at odds with the quaint, old-school exterior.

We think it may be this odd juxtaposition that draws us most to this small place. We’re big fans of quirky charm, and this little church-turned-guesthouse is home to plenty of it.

Outside you will find a fire pit, a beautiful forest and lots of peace and quiet.

The listing is near beautiful Lake Monroe, the largest lake whose shores are entirely located in Indiana. Go out and watch a sunrise or two while you’re here; worth getting up early.

The sunsets are also quite stunning when the conditions are right.

This little getaway to a Midwestern church (we’re not sure we’ve ever thought of combining those words, but hey, crazy things happen and this one just happens to be adorable) is great for couples and small groups. friends looking to get away for a weekend, a week or more.

It’s super comfortable and, thankfully, it’s quite affordable, charging just over $110 per night before fees and such.

We’re not the first to notice this unique Airbnb in Indiana; it has been crowned among the best in the country by Indianapolis Monthly and other reliable publications.

If you prefer to come alone to pamper yourself while enjoying some peace and quiet, well, this little piece of sanctuary awaits.

Who says you need to bring a significant other? Solo getaways are all the rage, and this church is the perfect place to plan your stay.
