New Delhi: Airbnb presents an overview of the main trends that have emerged in India and how travelers are embracing new forms of journey. New data reveals that international travel has seen a strong recovery in 2022, with Indians seeking out the world’s most iconic cities with Airbnb. The most searched destinations internationally by Indian customers in Q3 2022 were Dubai, London, Paris, Toronto and New York.

Nationally, interest in exploring off-the-beaten-path destinations has spiked. Top 5 off the beaten track destinations in India included Madhapur in Telangana, Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu, Vellore in Tamil Nadu, Cherrapunji in Meghalaya and Pimpri-Chinchwad in Maharashtra.

In India, hospitality is deeply rooted in the diversity of local culture, cuisine, lifestyle preferences and the way we welcome people into our homes. Delhi, Goa, Kerala, Maharashtra and Himachal Pradesh topped the hospitality rankings, with the largest share of 5-star guest reviews on Airbnb.

The data also revealed that customers opted to enjoy city life as Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai and Kolkata were the top domestic destinations for Indians in 2022.
