You can now rent George Best’s childhood home on Airbnb

George Best has perhaps the most fascinating history of all Irish sportsmen.

Born in Belfast, he would grow to be a Manchester United star as a teenager, achieving incredible things at the club. Of course, we also know his difficulties later in life.

Despite his passing over 15 years ago, the footballer still has a fanatic following. If you’re one of that group, this new Airbnb rental might be right for you.

You can now rent George Best’s family home on the site, the home Best grew up in before embarking on his trip to Manchester.

The property has been recently renovated to mimic what it would have looked like in the 1960s, with a number of Best nods scattered around the house.

The property description summarizes what is available:

Enter the house that fifteen-year-old George Best left in 1961 when he went to Manchester to follow his dreams.

Organized with the support of the Best family, you’ll get a feel for what the house looked like when George was a boy growing up with his brother and three sisters.

All over the house are family portraits, old school reports and letters from the house, along with an illustrated timeline and iconic photographs of George Best’s incredible football career. A guided audio tour is also available to all guests, free of charge.

The house can accommodate up to five people, with a price of around € 150 per night including charges.

You can consult the rental advertisement in its entirety here, which gives a little more information about the property.

It would certainly be quite an experience for George Best and Manchester United fans and we are sure it will be very popular with visitors to Belfast.
