You and your friends can live like royalty in the castle of Santa Marta de Portuzelo, which can accommodate up to 16 people.

The 12th century property is a whopping 21,528 square feet and is spread over two floors and a tower – perfect for fairytale photos.

The house has 12 bedrooms, nine of which are available to guests, all equipped with an en-suite bathroom and two of them even have a fireplace.

There are three living rooms, two dining rooms, a huge kitchen and a chapel – plenty of space to relax and have fun.

From the first floor you can see the nearby Lima River and the Atlantic Ocean in the distance.

Incredibly, the castle isn’t even the best part – the 4.2-acre gardens are sprawling and accessed via a tunnel.

The garden features a 16th century watchtower and fountain with beautiful landscaping including orange, lemon and fig trees.

Guests also have access to the private swimming pool.

The castle is 40 minutes from Port making it a peaceful place away from the crowds, but still easy enough to get into town to soak up the culture.

It is also a 15 minute drive from the beach and within walking distance of restaurants and bars.

Travelers will have access to the entire house, with the exception of three bedrooms, the chapel and the tower, which are only in private access.

The castle is available for rent on Airbnb and costs from £671 per night – which equates to just £42 each for 16 people.

There is a three-night minimum stay and well-behaved pets are allowed.
