But if you really want to have an exciting time on your vacation, you might consider staying at a place known to be haunted. Here are ten haunted rooms you can actually rent on Airbnb…if you dare.

In Port Angeles, Washington, there is an antique house built in the 1890s, refurbished by a man named Kevin. Despite its age, the house has been renovated a few times. That said, the listing still claims the house is “occupied by a mischievous ghost.”

So far, no one in Airbnb’s reviews section has explained their own experiences with this particular ghost, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. Any house over a century old has had its fair share of history. What wrongdoing could this household have behind closed doors?

9 Haunted Suite in Benton Historic Park

the Benton Park Historic Suite, built in 1890, is hosted by Debbi and Tom. If you choose to spend the night here, you’ll be pleased to know that the hosts have been declared Superhosts by Airbnb, which means they’re both highly rated by previous guests.

Due to the grandeur, historic neighborhood and age of the building, some guests have experienced paranormal activity. If you read some of the customer reviews on the website, you can see people recounting their experiences with supposed ghosts in the area. A guest claims to have woken up at 3 a.m. to the strong smell of perfume, when no one was spraying anything.

It is located in the Garden District of New Orleans, Louisiana. There are three rooms in the mansion available for rent, but the main attraction is the haunted room. The ghost they say haunts the place is a little girl in a yellow dress. She’s shy and doesn’t always make appearances, but you can always try your luck.

This elegant mansion is a truly unique place to stay if you are visiting St. Paul, Minnesota. The mansion was voted as one of the most mysterious houses in Saint Paul by the Pioneer Press. 4 Farnam Manor

Farnam Manor is a unique place to stay because it does not offer its guests an indoor place to sleep. Instead, if you plan to come to Farnam Manor, you better plan to camp outside. Their wide-open courtyard is believed to be a paranormal vortex brimming with spiritual energy.

It is located near Cuyahoga Valley National Park in Ohio. Legend has it that the original owners of the house, the Everetts, had a young daughter who drowned on the property in a well. Her spirit is said to continue to haunt the property, and if you sleep there at night, you may encounter her wandering around.


3 Historic Civil War Farmhouse

In historic Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, there’s no better place to stay than the Civil War Farmhouse. The hosts here are very upfront about getting frequent visitors from the other side. Although she continues to reassure all potential guests that these ghosts are friendly, as she has been on the property for 36 years, she has many stories to tell about her paranormal and ghostly encounters. It’s no surprise that there are spectral visitors here considering the farm is a former Civil War hospital.

In 1855, this stately home was built for free women of color, Louise Vitry, and his French wife at the time. It’s within walking distance of the French Quarter, making it a great way to immerse yourself in one of America’s most haunted cities.

1 Victorian Gothic Castle Mansion

The story of the Victorian Gothic Castle Mansion in Ellicott City, Maryland, is fascinating. It was built in 1857, when it was known as Lilburn Mansion and was home to the Hazelhurst family. Unfortunately, a fire at the mansion burned the old bones of the house. It had to be renovated by its new owner, John McGinnis.

Supposedly the ghosts in the manor weren’t happy with these changes and bad things started to happen to the Hazelhursts, including the death of one of their children and the Hazelhurst patriarch, Henry, died at home . Some guests who have stayed there claim to have seen a ghostly child hanging from a chandelier.
