18-year-old was fired after being scouted by his manager at Leeds Fest

Omair thought he could have got away with it until his manager saw him on ITV News

An 18-year-old has been sacked after he was spotted at Leeds Fest by his manager who thought he was ill over the bank holiday weekend. What seemed like a foolproof plan fell through after Omair was interviewed by ITV News ahead of the festival.

The Tab spoke to Omair who used to work nights in a warehouse and is now looking for a new job after blowing all his cash at the Leeds Festival after being caught out on national TV.

He said: ‘I hadn’t planned on going to Leeds it was a last minute thing so I faked Covid so I could go and was approached by the ITV News people leaving the station. I didn’t think about it, but later I realized that if my manager saw me on TV, which he did, I got many calls and this email in my ICT Tac.” In a video posted on TikTok, Omair shows an email that appears to be from someone at his work, asking if he had just been interviewed about the festival at Leeds train station.

Omair described how he faked a positive Covid-19 test using an old photo he had that his workplace didn’t even ask to see. Everything was going “good” for him until he got caught.

He was nervous about getting caught at first because he was asked his name and where he was from by the ITV reporter and so he had a little ‘oh my god’ moment thinking someone would see. Sadly someone did and although he wasn’t officially fired a lot has to be assumed as Omair said he was taken out of rotation but said ‘that’s what it is. ‘is”.

He was ‘stressed at first’ after losing his job, but now he’s optimistic he’ll find a new job that ‘could be better’ than the previous one, although he’s hoping for something soon as he’s spent all his money at the festival. . Yeah.

Despite all the stress, he still thinks it was worth it because he wouldn’t have done it any other way and “the jobs come and go”. To be fair to him, he got to see The 1975, Dave and Arctic Monkeys in the span of three days, you have to respect his hustle.
