2 of the best family places in the world are in Missouri

If you like to travel and have children, it’s good to know that two of the best destinations for families are right in Missouri according to a new international ranking.

One of the world’s leading travel websites TripSavvy said that in their new 2022 Editor’s Choice of Places They Call “Best for Families” traveling are both in Missouri. The 2 locations are:

1. Johnson’s Shut-Ins State Park – 148 Taum Sauk Trail, Middle Brook, Missouri

2. Shaw Park – 27 S Brentwood Blvd, Clayton, Missouri

They were impressed by Johnson’s Shut-Ins State Park and “the small water holes are now connected by slides and waterfalls that allow visitors to slide, splash and frolic from one pool to the next”. They also enjoyed the wide variety of hikes, cabins and equestrian trails.

Shaw Park earned points for being 48 acres in metro St. Louis which is an “enchanting family oasis with paved walking paths, waterfalls, vibrant gardens and art installations…several playgrounds filled swings, slides, seesaws, and benches for scruffy parents who need a minute to rest”.

Only a handful of places achieve this notoriety, so the fact that 2 of the winners are in Missouri is high praise for Show Me State being a great place for families. It’s better since both of these places are pretty much right here in our own backyard. Kind of.
