NEW THRILLS IN THE THEMATIC PARKS

  • Icebreaker, SeaWorld Orlandofirst roller coaster launch, will open in February 2022. The ride includes four launches, both backward and forward, culminating in an inverted launch with a 93-foot-high tip at a 100-degree angle, the steepest vertical drop in Florida.

  • New Diving in the reef water slide at Orlando Aquatic will launch in Spring 2022. Guests will pass a wide array of marine life, Commerson’s dolphins, leopard sharks and a variety of other cold-water fish.

  • The first in the world Peppa Pig Theme Park will open February 24, 2022 at LEGOLAND Florida Resort. The stand-alone theme park will feature multiple rides, interactive attractions, fun live shows, themed playscapes, and water play areas.

BEYOND THEME PARKS

  • ·Steinmetz room to Dr Phillips Center for the Performing Arts will open January 14, 2022 in the heart of downtown Orlando. The installation achieves an N1 sound index – the lowest level at which humans can detect sound.

  • Art² (“art squared”), an urban park featuring a two-story shipping container structure, will arrive in downtown Orlando in the spring of 2022. The park will feature a cafe, art gallery, stage, seating, digital video walls, and a gift shop, plus a synthetic turf yard, concrete patio, picnic tables and hammocks, and two food truck areas.

  • the Orlando Slingshot ™ and Orlando Freefall ™ – two world record attractions – open in december 2021. The Orlando Slingshot ™ is 300 feet tall, making it the tallest slingshot in the world.   • Four flamingos: a kitchen by Richard Blais in Florida open december 2021 at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress. The restaurant, from the Top Chef All-Stars winner, offers cuisine inspired by tropical flavors and ingredients from Florida, including native fruits, vegetables, seafood and more.

  • Pointe-Orlando will open two new restaurants including Tacos Kavas & Tequila in spring / summer 2022 and JoJo’s shake bar in autumn / winter 2022. Kavas offers a menu paying homage to from Mexico rich culinary history, with savory comfort food, fresh table experiences and recipes handcrafted from the freshest ingredients.

  • Sloppy Joes, the legendary Key West Lounge, opened at ICON Park on December 6, featuring live music and island-inspired dishes and libations.

  • New York Beer Project, built to look like a 1900s beer garden in that of New York Lower East Side, will open March 2022 in Winter Garden – a few minutes drive from Disney World.   • PIANO Café-Boutique, a restaurant offering European cuisine and piano performances every night, comes to Winter park Place Hannibal in 2022.

  • The BANDBOX – Orlando, central florida first non-alcoholic cocktail lounge and bar and collectibles / vintage shop, will open in spring 2022 at Ivanhoe Village in Downtown Orlando.

  • Founder of the Restaurant 4 Rivières Group, John rivers, will open the first phase of 4Roots Farm Campus by the end of 2022. MAJOR AIRPORT EXTENSION

  • The largest construction project in airport history is underway at Orlando Intl Airport, The South Terminal Complex. The first phase of $ 3.82 billion, the multi-year project is expected to be substantially completed in the first quarter of 2022.
