7 weekend getaways near Vancouver perfect for fall

Leaves are falling, hot apple cider is flowing, and we’re not getting as much sun as we used to – it’s time to slow down fall.

This time of year is the perfect opportunity for an off-season getaway. Use your vacation days and get a deal on an Airbnb or hotel — near or far — and treat yourself to a getaway this fall.

Here are some ideas for cozy getaways to consider when you need a break:

1. Washington road trip

Dive into the US for a quick jaunt to Washington to clear your head. Treat yourself to chip flavors and treats that you usually can’t find in Vancouver. If Seattle isn’t your speed, find a small town nearby to kick back with a book for a weekend.

2. Treetop getaway in Langley

A short drive from Vancouver, you’ll find this little house perched in a ravine made to clear your head. It’s only suitable for one or two, so it’s perfect for solo travelers and couples.

3. Harrison Hot Springs

Just under a two-hour drive from Vancouver is the small town of Harrison, where you can stroll along the lake, explore the Sasquatch-obsessed town, and find your own hidden gems just off the beaten path.

4. Okanagan road trip

Fall is harvest season in wine country, so there’s plenty to see and do. Plus, all the summer tourists are gone, so you can enjoy it in peace this fall.

5. Vancouver Island road trip

Leave the whole mainland behind and find yourself a peaceful corner of Vancouver Island to get away from it all. From the deafening sound of the waves to quirky roadside cafes, there’s so much to see just a ferry ride away.

6. Getaway to Chilliwack

If you never get off the freeway near Chilliwack, you’ve never seen its charming historic downtown. Spend the weekend at Chilliwack House, one of the cutest Airbnbs in the Fraser Valley, a short walk from downtown, and relax.

7. Hotel Getaway

Sometimes all it takes is spending a night in a hotel to satisfy a wanderlust and get out of a rut. Try to stay somewhere special, like the historic Fairmont Vancouver, the Westin Bay Shore with its proximity to Stanley Park, or the celebrity favorite Rosewood Hotel Georgia.
