Accelleran and RED Technologies Successfully Achieve 5G Shared Access Spectrum Interoperability
PARIS, March 23, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Accelleran and RED Technologies have successfully completed shared access spectrum interoperability testing between the Accelleran SAS cloud-native client microservice that is part of the Accelleran dRAX™ RIC platform and the access system Spectrum (SAS) from RED Technologies in the cloud, allowing 4G/5G devices to operate seamlessly on shared spectrum.
Users/operators with a local license or lease are entitled to interference protection throughout the area of operation. SAS ensures that this protection is enforced at all times, using precise radio propagation algorithms to determine the transmit power allowed for each registered device.
Before using the shared spectrum, devices first register with the SAS and request authorization for permission to transmit.
As part of 5G-RECORDS, the transmission power is determined when creating the license or lease, thus guaranteeing a guaranteed coverage area and quality of service for the duration of the local license / lease.
