Pop culture’s endless nostalgia machine isn’t just at work in movies like Superior gun legacywhat. You can also take this nostalgia on vacation.
If you’re celebrating the 20th anniversary of live-action scooby-doogood, Airbnb is also. It might be unexpected to find people celebrating a movie that scored 30% on Rotten Tomatoes (the sequel did worse at 22%), but here we are. Matthew Lillardwhich was beautifully cast as Shaggy, hosts three nights in a recreation of the mysterious machine through Airbnb.
Booking is a van vacation along the Southern California coast. If you’re lucky enough to take advantage of one of the three one-night stays, you’ll also get unlimited snacks, games, and a retro TV to watch the movie, according to the announcement. Plus, Lillard himself will greet you at Shaggy’s ride, which is, like, awesome, man.
Stays are available on June 24, 25 and 26. Awesome, a night in the van will only cost you $20. With only three nights available, however, this will be in short supply. The mysterious machine is available to book starting June 16 at 1 p.m. ET. Once those three nights are over, they’re gone.
Who could resist the lure of a portable CD player, lava lamp, puka shell necklace and Sugar Ray albums? This list sounds like a joke, and it is, but it’s also a true accounting of the items in the van. More appealing is this outdoor seating configuration for relax like Shaggy through the long Californian night.
