Airbnb.org will offer free stays to up to 100,000 Ukrainian refugees
Airbnb and an affiliated nonprofit provide free short-term housing to up to 100,000 people refugees from Ukraine.
Airbnb.org, an independent nonprofit focused on providing temporary stays for people in times of crisis, plans to partner with resettlement agencies and nonprofits to facilitate stays.
Stays will be funded by Airbnb, Airbnb.org Refugee Fund donors, and Airbnb.org hosts. People interested in listing through Airbnb.org do not need to be Airbnb hosts.
“We know that Airbnb hosts and travelers around the world will be eager to stand up and support this massive effort – and in the coming days, Airbnb plans to share details of how Airbnb hosts and the community at broad sense can support this initiative,” reads a statement from Airbnb.
Neighboring countries agreed to accept refugees from Ukraine, including Poland, Moldova, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.

Biran Chesky, CEO of AirbnbAirbnb chief strategy officer Nathan Blecharzyk and nonprofit Airbnb.org president Joe Gebbia sent letters Monday to leaders in Poland, Germany, Hungary and Romania offering Airbnb.org as a tool for welcome refugees.
Airbnb.org, which was created end of 2020, provided free temporary stays at20,000 Afghan refugees.
