Airbnb reveals the most popular US travel destinations for Labor Day weekend

Home rental company Airbnb recently conducted a survey, hereshowing the most popular destinations over Labor Day weekend.

Although some are still planning summer trips, Labor Day is fast approaching and travelers are looking to take full advantage of the three-day weekend. From small towns to beach destinations and other unique locations across the country, Labor Day is big business for hosts and guests.

Based on the most nights booked for the long weekend, the most popular US cities for travelers this year are:

  • Raleigh, North Carolina
  • Tampa, Florida
  • North Kingstown, RI
  • Jacksonville, Florida
  • Cambridge, MA
  • San Francisco, California
  • Reno, Nevada
  • St. Petersburg, Florida
  • North Charleston, South Carolina

For those planning a last trip to the beach before the weather turns cold or unique getaways in a college town, top trending destinations include:

Airbnb reported that American hosts collectively earned more than $300 million last Labor Day weekend and, with solo travel on the rise, hope to beat that mark this year. They found that “simple travel bookings for the holiday weekend increase by more than 20% compared to 2021”.
