Are These 3 Dutchess County Places Really Haunted?

At this time of year, we’re all looking for a scare, right? If you’re looking for a good time to relax, visit Dutchess County and its historic and haunted stops on the Haunted History Trail.

Dutchess County Tourism shares that 3 sites in Beacon, Hyde Park and Wappingers are all stops on the Haunted History Trail across the state. These 3 locations are:

Bannerman Island
Miss Fanny’s Victorian Party House
St. James Episcopal Church

So what makes each of these locations perfect for the Haunted History Trail? Well, legend has it that Native Americans living in the Hudson Valley at the time avoided the island because it was possessed by evil. Later in the story, there were rumors that the island was haunted by banshees bringing dangerous winds and weather to sailors heading to the island.

Miss Fanny’s Victorian party house is a very well-known paranormal hotspot. So much so that it has been featured in several paranormal investigative shows. Anyone up for a ghost hunt?

St James Episcopal Cemetery is over 200 years old. There must be spirits floating around, right?

Dutchess Tourism writes:

From great spirits summoned by early Native American tribes to early Dutch settlers who carefully avoided haunted places, New York City has been home to centuries of chilling events that simply cannot be explained. All of this awaits you on the HANTED HISTORY TRAIL.

They continue:

The trail offers serious ghost hunting locations that cater to investigative teams, as well as seasonal ghost-themed events for the paranormal curious. Gather your courage if you want to participate – alone or with friends!

Are you brave enough to spend the night at Miss Fanny’s Victorian Party House? Will you explore the supposedly haunted paths of Bannerman’s Castle? Want to stroll by candlelight through a historic and probably haunted cemetery?

Fill your October calendar with a spellbinding fun time in Dutchess County…if you dare.

Sanderson Sister Airbnb near Salem MA

It’s not a movie set, it’s a real house made to look like Sister Sanderson’s house from Hocus Pocus 2 and it will be available on Airbnb for one night only. According to the listing, Winifred Sanderson and her sisters are opening the house for 2 people for one night only on October 20, 2022. And the big problem is that you can’t reserve it until October 12, 2022 at 1 p.m. I predict this list will break the internet that day when Hocus Pocus fans try to praise everything at once. FYI, perhaps the scariest thing about this lovely stay is the fact that there is no indoor plumbing.
