Birmingham and Hoover send crews to Selma

The cities of Birmingham and Hoover are contributing to storm recovery efforts in Selma. Public Works employees from both cities will help clean up after the storm on Saturday. A total of 24 employees will help. Hoover will provide generators, tents, cots, skid steer loaders and a boom truck. Birmingham employees will have heavy equipment including dump trucks and a tank truck. Combined teams will clear heavy debris from roads. In a statement, Hoover Mayor Frank Brocato said, “Our thoughts are with our friends in Selma. We are providing support and will continue to meet their needs as we learn more. Birmingham Mayor Randall Woodfin said: “When the Mayor of Selma called asking for support, we had no hesitation in putting together a team to help them if needed. We offer our prayers and support to all communities affected by Thursday’s storms.
