Birmingham-area teachers honored by Alexander Shunnarah
BIRMINGHAM, AL – Alabama lawyer Alexander Shunnarah, known for his billboards that adorn state roads, honored six Birmingham-area teachers by sharing one of his famous billboards. ‘posting with them as they were named teacher of the month.
Each month, Alexander Shunnarah celebrates five teachers across the United States and gives them a $ 500 American Express gift card and displays their photo on an Alexander Shunnarah digital billboard for one day.
The Birmingham Underground teachers who have received this honor are:
- Crystal Drake – Birmingham
- Music teacher at Glen Iris Elementary School
- Joseph Rhodes – Chaffinch
- Grade 8 math teacher at Rudd Middle School
- Feavai Thomas – Birmingham
- 3rd grade teacher in minor elementary school
- Alexis Montgomery – Birmingham
- Math teacher at Woodlawn High School
- Jacob Roop – Alabaster
- Thompson High School Grade 11 English Teacher
- Willie Davis – Bessemer
- Grade 3 teacher at Charles F. Hard Elementary School
Since the initiative began in September 2019, the Shunnarah cabinet has received thousands of applications from deserving teachers who are making a difference. This year, Shunnarah has broadened and increased its initiative to reach and celebrate more deserving teachers across the country.
