The restaurant’s design, developed by Socially Budapest, is inspired by a journey through Hong Kong, playing on visitors’ senses to transport them to the Far East and immerse them in a gourmet culinary experience. Preserving the love of East Asia, Badhanna brings back fond memories and nostalgic nostalgia from travels in the diverse region. Every detail of the restaurant, from the exotic flora and illustrated posters overlapping on the walls, to the neon lights and custom-designed fixtures, recalls a traveler’s encounters in Hong Kong, to create an indulgence of the senses.

The concept of the restaurant is centered on the goal of creating a space that offers experiential insight into travel and life in Hong Kong, allowing all who enter to leave their daily lives behind and immerse themselves in the world. of Badhana. During the ideation phase, Socially Budapest imagined an imaginary muse – an intrepid young traveler – who symbolizes Badhanna. The adventurous and free-spirited woman who sets off to discover the Far East, discovers exotic perfumes, eclectic signage and natural scenes and landscapes. His journey takes him to explore dark alleyways, crowded streets lit by flashing neon signs and villages far removed from the bustle of the city. She experiences charming street food stalls and develops a lasting taste for more refined Asian gastronomy.

the walls read like a travel diary

Remembering their own travel experiences in Hong Kong and East Asia, Socially Budapest designs Badhanna’s vibrant interior to resemble a travel diary, complete with graphics by the Hungarian street artist. Originally built in 1886, the space had more recently been structurally redesigned by a previous architect, which provided the designers with a good base from which to develop Badhanna according to their vision. For the interior layout of the restaurant, the design team sought to preserve as much of the original features of the space as possible, while making it their own. Focusing on the small details, the team designed additional custom elements including the bar, counter lamps and shelving.
