Covington Cottage is a Hobbit-themed Airbnb in Nebraska

If you’ve ever wanted to escape everyday life and make yourself comfortable in a hobbit hole, now is your chance. This underground Airbnb, with round doors and windows, is an adorable place to spend a weekend. Stay indoors and snuggle up or take a walk in the natural surroundings – either way, it’s a delightfully different place to stay.

In these uncertain times, please keep safety in mind and consider adding destinations to your bucket list at a later date.

The official name of the small structure is Covington Cottage, but there’s no denying the resemblance to a certain type of house found in the Shire.

From the round wooden door to the cozy wooden interior, this space is full of whimsy.

As soon as you enter the little house, you will be greeted by the famous opening lines of *The Hobbit* on the floor of the entrance: “In a hole in the floor lived a hobbit. Not a dirty, filthy, damp hole, filled with worm-ends and an oozing smell, Nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit on or to eat: it was a hobbit hole, and that means comfort.

And comfort is, indeed, what you will find within these walls. The space is small, but in a kind of fairy tale.

If you are traveling with friends, the small cottage can accommodate up to four people in its two beds. But if you’re hoping for some privacy, Covington Cottage would be an exceptional choice for a romantic weekend with the one you love.

There’s even a small parlor for, presumably, having breakfast, second breakfast, elevens, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner, and supper.

An electric fireplace will keep you warm in the small chalet built into the ground. Sweet little details throughout the space will bring to mind the unforgettable Tolkien novels (or movies) that many of us have fallen in love with.

If you feel like venturing out, there is plenty to see in the South Sioux City area. Of course, you can always just meet in the beautiful outdoor area to chat a bit.

It took over a year to build this adorable Airbnb, and from what we can see, it looks like it was worth it. The Little Hobbit House is on the same property as Kottage Knechtion, a popular treehouse that you can also rent for a unique stay.
