Demand for short-term rentals in Greece exceeds 2019 levels

Demand for Airbnb-type rentals in Greece is expected to exceed pre-pandemic 2019 levels this summer with the country seeing a 237.3% increase in the demand rate for the June-September period taking the lead in Europe, AirDNA said in its April 2022 Europe Market Review.

According to AirDNA data from May 9, Greece leads this summer in terms of demand in Europefollowed by Croatia (+209%), Portugal (+200%), Italy (+153.1%) and Hungary (+140.3%).

According to AirDNA, consumer confidence in travel has grown in recent months despite the Russian-Ukrainian war. As of May 9, Europe was up 82% for the summer months (June to September) from the same point in 2021 and 2.6% from 2019.
