Disney x Airbnb recreate Hundred Acre Wood from ‘Winnie the Pooh
Anyone who grew up with the honey-loving bear Winnie the Pooh knows a little place called the Hundred Acre Wood.
Of course, it’s always been a bit of a fairy tale, but Airbnb wants to make your wildest dreams come true with what it cleverly dubbed “Bearbnb,” created in collaboration with Disney to celebrate the Bear’s 95th birthday this year. year.
This exact human-sized replica of Winnie the Pooh’s cozy treehouse will be located in Ashdown Forest – an ancient area of open moorland about 30 miles south of London in the county of East Sussex – and is large enough to accommodate up to four people. .
Fans of the endearing character and his adventures will be hosted by Disney’s own Winnie the Pooh illustrator Kim Raymond, who was also the artist behind animation for over 30 years. But of course the artist was the best fit for the job, having been aware of every detail of the portly bear house all these years.
Here, she used details straight from EH Shepard’s artwork to recreate the house in real life, from its bright red doors and tassel-lined wallpaper to the famous rocking chair. The double bed will be accompanied by single beds accessible via wooden ladders, so you can take all the naps you want, just like Winnie did.
Guests will also take a guided tour through the original hundred-acre woodland, play Poohsticks on the iconic Poohsticks Bridge, and enjoy locally inspired Hunny-inspired meals.
“I illustrated Winnie the Pooh for thirty years and I continue to draw inspiration from classic EH Shepard decorations and more recent Disney stories. The “Bearbnb” is a unique experience that brings the charm of Pooh to life for fans, while honoring the original adventures that have been so important to so many for 95 years, ”said Raymond.
This Airbnb x Disney recreation of Hundred Acre Wood will only be listed for two separate stays on September 24 and 25 (and only US $ 130 a night), so chances are we won’t be able to stay in what’s easily the most. magical Airbnb ad never created, but if there’s one thing Winnie the Pooh taught us, it’s that it’s okay to dream.
