eBay users sell used Queen’s bracelets for three figures

As thousands line up to see the Queen in state at Westminster Hall, eBay users have spotted second-hand bracelets selling in the triple digits.

Bracelets distributed to mourners are already appearing on the online market, with prices reaching £199.99 in some cases.

So far, at least five of the groups have been sold, and more auctions are expected to wrap up in the coming days.

One of the groups for sale includes a bright orange which was used today, Saturday, and has already won auctions for over £400, with the auction not due to end until Tuesday.

Along with the bright orange additions, there are two dark green bans which were used by the saleswoman and her daughter on Thursday as they waited eight hours to walk past the coffin.

The seller made a big profit, with a max bid of £396 alongside Derby’s £3.35 postage.

The yellow stripes of the accessible queues are also on sale, with a vendor offering two Westminster newspapers with both yellow stripes.

Despite sales down triple digits, a seller has put his band up for £22,000 for the first day of waiting but deleted the list.

Groups are issued by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) to help manage the queue and large numbers of people hoping to see the Queen.

To stay organized, the department also created bands of different colors and numbers for each day.

As the DCMS website says, the group is “a record of when you joined the queue.”

Later adding that “having a wristband does not guarantee your entry into the Lying-in-State”.

The strips allow mourners to leave the queue so they can grab food, use the restroom and take breaks for essentials.

The Queen has been in state since Wednesday and tonight will see her eight the grandchildren hold a vigil around the coffin.
