Father pays tribute to schoolboy killed in Birmingham e-scooter accident

The Distraught Father young schoolboy who died tragically following an accident while riding an electric scooter at Bordesley Green paid a heartfelt tribute.

Mustafa Madeem, 12, lost his life on Tuesday November 6 after a tragic accident near his school.

The young schoolboy, who recently transferred from Washwood Heath Academy to Saltley Academy, was hit by a double-decker bus while riding an electric scooter just before 8am.

Nadeem Khan, the father of the tragic victim, said the family were totally devastated and overcome with grief and their hearts were torn to “pieces”.

Mustafa lived in the Bordesley Green area of ​​Birmingham with his family. He was the second oldest after his sister and had two younger siblings, a sister and a brother.

The schoolboy lived in Bordesley Green and had an older sister and a younger sister and brother. He said: “Her passing broke all of our hearts to pieces. He was the kind of boy who lit up the whole room.

Mr Khan described his son as ‘loving and warm’ and added: ‘He was full of charm and always respectful, kind and caring.

The devastated family said they ‘cannot describe in words’ the level of pain they all feel after hearing about Mustafa’s shock death.

Waqas Rashid, the young victim’s uncle, said: “We are all heartbroken.

“He was such a curious kid. He was a bubbly, happy boy.

“He was important to all of us and everyone is devastated. He was very close to his siblings who will all be greatly missed by him.

Washwood Heath Academy released a statement saying the victim’s family are supported during this difficult and traumatic time.

A spokesperson for the Trust which runs the Academy, said: ‘Washwood Heath Multi Academy Trust expresses its deepest sympathy to the family of one of our youngsters, who was tragically killed in an accident as he was going to school.

“We are supporting our young people and our staff at this time and are in contact with the family to support them in any way we can.”

The grieving family of the victim have joined local voices calling for a ban on electric scooters following the loss of the beloved schoolboy.

Cllr Shafique Shah – Deputy Mayor and councilor for the Heartlands ward where the fatal accident happened – is also demanding a ban on electric scooters in Birmingham.
