Flowerpots and cereal boxes among the crazy ideas that become Airbnb homes

The results are in for Airbnb’s OMG! The competition for funds and house ideas is as crazy as expected. From a house in the shape of a flowerpot to another in the shape of a solar-powered cereal box, a hundred quirky creations now have the chance to become real homes.

the Oh my god Airbnb! Funds The competition received tens of thousands of entries from around the world, including more than 1,000 treehouses, nearly 8,000 sustainable projects and 400 focused on stargazing. These were then narrowed down to 100 winning concepts from over 20 different countries. Their designers will now receive funding of up to US$100,000 to take them from rendering to reality, with the idea that the owners will finish them and start welcoming guests by mid-2023.

“What an incredible journey it has been to be part of the OMG! Fund judging process,” said judge Kristie Wolfe, who knows a lot of things about strange mansions itself. “There were so many inspiring stories and destinations that I had never heard of before that I now look forward to visiting. As a builder myself, I look forward to seeing these ideas come to life. This are more than just places to visit. spend the night – each offers a complete experience!”
