The ‘Schwartz Riverside House’, also known as the ‘Still Bend’, was built in 1940 in the town of Two Rivers along the shores of Lake Michigan. it is a rare example of a two-story “Usonian” house, which is no longer usually only one-story.

the schwartz house, now on airbnb (see here), is definitive of frank lloyd wright’s signature residential style – long brick volumes are surrounded by flat roofs with dramatic overhangs. inside, the accommodation hosts four bedrooms defined by their horizontal spaces, staggered overhead ceilings, and panels of red tide cypress. full-height glass panels look out over the surrounding landscaped lawns and wildlife.
