‘Friends’ themed Airbnb opens in Tampa Bay

This Airbnb will be there for you.

In the 90s and early 2000s, “Friends” was one of the most popular sitcoms on television. Every week, viewers tuned in to watch the titular friends hanging out in their apartments or cafe and get caught up in wacky shenanigans.

Today, an Airbnb in Florida offers guests the opportunity to live like a friend.

Part of the charm of the show was its unique look. From Monica and Rachel’s gigantic apartment to the sofa-filled cafe, the show’s locations have always stood out. That style inspired Airbnb host Frank Albert’s design for a two-bedroom, two-bathroom property in Tampa Bay, Fox 13 reports.

The walls and furniture all sport bright colors, while the walls are decorated with the same elements as seen in the show. The front door, for example, has a picture frame mounted on the peephole.

Although many items weren’t big, that doesn’t mean they weren’t expensive.

“I love how this kitchen came out,” Albert told Fox 13. “One of the things you always see in Monica’s kitchen is this timer. You’d think a timer would cost $12, but I think this one was in the hundreds, but it’s a must!” laughs Wertman. “It’s one of those things you have to have, to make it look realistic.”

While this isn’t Albert’s first Airbnb, it’s the first he’s designed on a specific theme.

“It’s a gamble,” he explained, “but I feel like even people who aren’t fans of the show will appreciate the quality of the work.”
