Gunshots erupt in quiet Rockland County neighborhood, five arrested

Five people were arrested in a savage shooting and caught on camera in an affluent Rockland County neighborhood over the weekend.

Home security footage obtained by The Post shows several shots ringing out suddenly around 1.45pm on Saturday in New City – as a man blows snow from his driveway.

Several people can be seen fleeing the house where the shooting took place and running down the street.

The man blowing the snow then realizes what is happening and runs inside.

Sources told the Post that the suspects were part of a rap music video being filmed at 3 Turnberry Court, which was rented on Airbnb.

Clarkstown Police Department officers arrived at the home when gunshots were called and saw a black Mercedes drive away, officials said in a press release.

The man was clearing snow in front of his house until he heard gunshots nearby.

Police chased the car until it hit a utility pole, at which point the five suspects inside rushed in different directions on foot, police said.

Clarkstown police and Rockland County Sheriff’s Department deputies worked together and arrested the five suspects within minutes of the initial 911 call, police say. Four handguns were recovered during the arrest.

Sources told the Post that 10 other firearms were discovered inside the home.

All five suspects are from Brooklyn. One of them is a minor. Their identities were not immediately made available by law enforcement. Charges were pending for the suspects to be arraigned, police said.

In the surveillance video, a woman could be heard screaming in the distance as the gunfire stopped.

“What was that?” She cries.

The man walks back to his snowblower and tells someone inside his house to close the door.

Another neighbor runs down the street and yells “Call 911!” several times.

“The black car is leaving!” he added.

“Stay inside,” the man tells the neighbour, adding that the police are being contacted.
