Harry Styles Glasgow: Road closures around concert as ‘heavy traffic’ expected

There are only a few days left before Glasgow residents head to Ibrox to see the one and only Harry Styles perform.

Beginning his 2022 Love On Tour in Glasgow this weekend, the pop icon will be greeted by over 50,000 fans after selling out the football stadium within minutes with fans demanding another night.

Before taking the stage, the former One Direction star will be joined by American-Japanese singer-songwriter Mitski, who will be the 28-year-old’s special guest.

Due to the volume of people heading to Ibrox Stadium, located on the south side of the River Clyde, traffic is expected to be heavier than usual in the area.

And with fans eager to see the As it was star perform, you can expect traffic to start early with kick-off from 4pm this Saturday (June 11).

How to get to Ibrox

People traveling from the city center or the west can take the tube to Ibrox tube station, although people should be warned that there could be large crowds with concert organizers pointing out that “all efforts are made to ensure that the majority of customers use public transport or arrive on foot” for the performance.

Informing concert-goers, Traffic Scotland warned drivers that “traffic is expected to be heavier than normal on the #M8, #M74, #M77 and #M80”.

They also warn that “rail and underground services will be limited” asking people to check before travelling.

For those wishing to park, there are no spaces available at the stadium other than blue badge parking, with requests to be made in advance.
